A Pennsylvania native, Dr. Kelly received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park. He attended medical school in Hershey at the Penn State College of Medicine. He then entered the U.S. Army and completed a transitional internship at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He then served as a Flight Surgeon in Giebelstadt, Germany and Skopje, Macedonia. On hiatus from the U.S. Army, Dr. Kelly then returned to Hershey to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Upon returning to the Army, Dr. Kelly was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO as a general orthopaedic surgeon, and also deployed to Iraq during that time. He completed his military service at Ft. Belvoir, VA, and from there moved to Sydney, Australia for a Shoulder and Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Additionally, he has the Certificate of Added Qualification for Sports Medicine, also from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Kelly lives in Hummelstown, PA with his wife and their four sons.
