Dr. Frankeny is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University . He was awarded a Masters Degree in Sports Medicine and a Medical Degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 1986. He served as an intern and resident in Orthopedics at Penn State Hershey Medical Center .

After an Asian traveling fellowship in Sports Medicine in 1991, he began a general Orthopedic practice with the Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania where he serves as Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Frankeny is a member of the American Medical Association , American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons , and the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society . Dr. Frankeny is also on the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society's Board of Directors.

He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedics, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and as a clinical teacher for the Department of Orthopedics, Pinnacle Health Systems .

Dr. Frankeny has served as team orthopedist for the Harrisburg Senators Baseball Team and several high school football teams. He has spent much of his time coaching youth league Sports teams.
