Curtis Goltz, D.O. |
Dr. Goltz joined OIP in August 2002. He is a graduate of The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York and completed his internship and residency locally in the Pinnacle Health System. He had a special out rotation training in Orthopedics at DuPont Children's Hospital in Wilmington , DE , and sports, joint replacement at New England Baptist Medical Center in Boston , MA , as well as trauma and spine training at Christianna Hospital in Wilmington , DE .
Dr. Goltz is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Osteopathic Association. He has privileges at both the Pinnacle Health System and Holy Spirit Hospital. He also performs surgery at the West Shore Surgery Center and Grandview Laser and Surgery Center of Camp Hill. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. He also teaches and trains orthopedic residents and interns for the Pinnacle Health System. He regularly attends the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons meeting, Current Concepts in Joint Replacement, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics Postgraduate Seminars and the Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Specialists.
Dr. Goltz practices general orthopedics with a special interest in joint replacement and spine surgery. He provides his joint replacement patients with a minimally invasive surgery while utilizing the industry’s latest improvements and technology. When deemed appropriate, he uses ceramic-on-ceramic and metal-on-metal bearing surfaces for total hip replacement. Total Knee patients receive the high performance Triathlon Total Knee Replacement (gender specific replacement). Dr. Goltz is also trained on and offers his patients a Custom Fit Knee Replacement using Shape-Match Technology.
Dr. Goltz also specializes in minimally invasive shoulder surgery including arthroscopic and mini open rotator cuff tear repair and labral tears. He also practices ACL knee reconstruction using the newer 'no brace' minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Dr. Goltz's spine practice incorporates the newest minimally invasive techniques as well as the use of the new technology to treat compression fractures of the spine, Kyphoplasty.
Dr. Goltz is known for his cosmetically appealing minimally invasive technique. He frequently uses a plastic surgeon's closure when applicable. He uses the computer-based image guided navigation system in hip and knee reconstruction when applicable.
