Shoulder injuries are frequently caused by athletic activities that involve excessive, repetitive overhead motion such as swimming, tennis, pitching, and weightlifting. Injuries can also occur during everyday activities such washing walls, hanging curtains, and gardening.

The OIP Advantage:
OIP identifies and treats injuries that went unnoticed 20 years ago. For example, our physicians now use miniaturized television cameras to see inside a joint. With this tool, they are able to identify and treat a shoulder injury called a glenoid labrum tear.

  • Stiffness - cannot move arm in all the normal positions

  • Pain which persists for a few days or more
  • Lack of strength in shoulder or arm - inability to carry out daily activities
  • Difficulty or inability to carry objects or use arm
  • Bruising or swelling of joint or arm
  • Redness and warmth in arm with fever
  • Persistent numbness or tingling in shoulder or arm
