Orthopedic Institute of PA would like to welcome Thomas M. Skeehan, M.D to our team of providers.  Dr. Skeehan has 30 years’ experience and specializes in Anesthesiology (pain control) and Pain Management.

 Dr. Skeehan graduated from Georgetown University and Northwestern University Medical School.  He completed his Anesthesia residency and a research fellowship at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  He was also an Associate Professor of Anesthesia for six years before focusing on private clinical practice.

Dr. Skeehan is Board Certified in Anesthesiology with a Special Certificate in Pain Medicine.  He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

As an Anesthesiologist, he administers drugs or other anesthetics during his medical procedures to focus on pain relief.  He provides general anesthesia, sedation, or regional anesthesia, such as nerve blocks, spinal or epidural injections.

 Through initial consultation, Dr. Thomas Skeehan will diagnose the cause of pain and then treat it.  He develops a plan that is specific to each of his patients to relieve, reduce, or manage pain.  With his specialization in pain management, he helps patients return to everyday activities as quickly as possible without surgery or relying heavily on pain medication.
